Olney Lace Circle

Welcome to The Olney Lace Circle Website

St Josephs

St Joseph's Convent, Olney
where our Circle Meets

The Olney Lace Circle held their inaugural meeting in February 1980 with a handful of members. It has gone from strength to strength and now has over 30 members.

Sadly, Anne Major died recently in March 2018. She had been a menber for many years and Treasurer for more than 20 years

We are also sad to announce the death of Lesley Hancon, in June 2018, another long serving member of the Lace Circle. Her shoes will be hard to fill as she taught newcomers and helped everyone at the meetings on Wednesday afternoon. She was also a talented artist and designer and was responsible for the design and execution of all our featured projects. A special lady and dear friend to many she will be greatly missed.

The logo is a frying pan with a lace bobbin for a handle which was designed by Lesley Hancon, one of our members. Olney is famous for its pancake race, which has been run on Shrove Tuesday for centuries.
